Abstract

Objective: This study's goal is to evaluate its anti-helminthic effectiveness for a methanolic extract of cumin (Cuminum cyminum) seeds using an Indian earthworm (Pheretima Posthuma). by finding paralysis and death time.

Material and methods: Preliminary phytochemical analysis was done by using different chemical reagents with methanol extract. Earth worms were taken from moist field soil for the experimental trials.

Results: The anti-helminthic activity of Cuminum cyminum methanolic extract at the concentration of 50, 75, and 100 mg/ml was examined. A 75 mg/ml concentration of the extract was found to exert a positive impact.

Conclusion: By this study it was observed that the methanolic extract of cumin possessed a marked anti-anthelminthic effect.
