Abstract

The objective of Present study is to test the interdependence of Yen angle with other parameters of sagittal divergence and to procure more dependable and least variable parameters for anterior-posterior cephalometric analysis. Lateral cephalograms of  500 subjects (250 eastern and 250 western UP population) were obtained and traced for three different sagittal discrepancy parameters. This study demonstrated that the Yen angle is the most evenly distributed metric for measuring anterior-posterior sagittal divergence. The distribution and variability of other metrics, including, Beta angle and ANB angle, were uniform. Instead of depending on only one metric, other parameters should be investigated and correlated with clinical data because all of the parameters utilised in the study are statistically strongly correlated with one another.
