Hypertension In India: An Insight Into The NFHS-5 Data

Abstract

Non-communicable diseases are the leading cause of death globally. It accounts for 65%of all deaths in India. According to NFHS-5 data the prevalence of hypertension is higher among men than among women. In this paper an attempt is made to highlight the prevalence of hypertension among rural and urban population in India. The data for the present study was secondary in nature and was obtained from NFHS-5 factsheets.
