Abstract

This 3A syndrome was characterized by a triad of achalasia cardia, alacrimia and adrenal insufficiency. It is an autosomal recessive disorder of chromosome 12q13 coding for the gene AAAS. We present you a case of 18 year old girl with achalasia, planned for Heller’s myotomy operation had an episode of generalized tonic clonic seizures due to hypoglycemia. An ophthalmologic examination was done and found that she also had alacrimia. Thus, after a complete workup, patient was diagnosed as Allgrove syndrome.
