Abstract

There was no criminal law in an agrarian society. The founding principle of criminal justice was "a tooth for a tooth, an eye for an eye, a life for a life." White collar crimes are also included by the Indian Penal Code of 1860. The criminal code of India was first established and defined in this period. It covers a wide range of white collar offenses and provides penalties for them. In addition to the Indian laws created to address W.C.C., examination of individual W.C.C. legislation deals with analysis of specific Acts on W.C.C. Judicial attitude towards white collar crimes deals with the judiciary's stance toward these crimes. Other decisions made by the Supreme Court and numerous High Courts on various W.C.C. facts have been examined.

The study "Evaluation of real enforcement of legislation pertaining to W.C.C. in the state of Punjab" examines the actual application of Punjab's laws against white collar crimes. Analysis of secondary data has been used to assess the W.C.C. law enforcement.
