Awareness on Management of Midline Diastema - A Survey among Dental Students.

Introduction: The midline diastema is space or gap between the maxillary central incisors. it is a common esthetic
complaint of patients.
Aim: The aim of this article is to know the knowledge and awareness of dental students in the management of Midline
diastema.
Materials and Methods: A questionnaire of 16 questions was created and entered in the online survey creator ‘Google
Forms’ and shared among each student of about 100 individually and privately and data were collected subject to
statistical analysis using SPSS software. Statistical tests used were descriptive statistics and Chi square tests. P value
less than 0.05 was considered statistically significant. p value was found to be 0.261 which statistically insignificant
Conclusion: Results of this study suggest that Preclinical dental students were lacking some knowledge in
management of Midline diastema, so they need an effective education and awareness campaign to increase their
knowledge and awareness on management of Midline diastema.
